Job Posting Reports to: Youth, Young Adult, and Discipleship Pastor.
Working Hours: 10 hours per week plus availability for large events and retreats.
Areas of Responsibility:
Assist the Youth Pastor in the strategic, administrative, and operational delivery of the youth ministry programming; and to help implement events and gatherings for the Gayton Student Ministry, primarily Sunday mornings and LifeNights.
Assist in maintaining the youth areas and youth closet spaces. After proper training, run sound/computer/screen equipment for youth worship times or special events.
Work with the Youth Pastor, Worship Pastor, and youth band to ensure lyrics and any audio/visual presentations are set for youth events.
Under the direction of the Youth Pastor, lead middle school special events, weekly Sunday morning brunch, and special age-related Bible studies.
Other General Responsibilities:
Cooperate with and support all staff members in promoting the entire ministry of Gayton Baptist Church.
Understand, affirm, promote, and participate in the vision, mission, and core values of Gayton Baptist Church, both within and beyond expected ministry responsibilities.
Participate in worship gatherings as called upon.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:
Faithful, sincere, and maturing relationship with Jesus Christ; baptized in believer’s baptism.
Over the age of 21, with two or more years of experience working with students.
Middle school and tween-age experience are ideal.
Able to demonstrate the interpersonal skills, experience, and heart for serving, and caring for young people and their families.
Solid computer and technological skills and can demonstrate operational leadership. Proven communication and organizational skills - written and oral.
Education (prior or pursuing) in the fields of youth work, teaching, or ministry preferred.
