Associate Pastor of Youth Ministries and Next Generation
Purpose
To develop a ministry to youth and their families with a goal of inspiring faith, love, and spiritual growth.
Position Responsibilities
· This position requires flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Actual hours required during any given week are those needed to fulfill responsibilities of the position.
· Create environments, activities and programing that will facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth.
· Plan, develop and implement all aspects of a balanced youth ministry along with helping them discover a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
· Training youth to understand and incorporate the Bible into their lives.
· Assuring that youth are considered and included within the life of the church.
· Communicate plans, programs and activities regularly with the Pastor, youth and parents through available sources as needed.
· Actively recruit youth and young families in the community through church supported activities and programs.
· Network with other Christian ministry professionals in the community.
· Coordinate with Christian Education Leader to promote, implement and further develop quality Christian Education for youth, including Bible study, Wednesday night activities, seasonal and special events, and youth mission projects and trips.
· Support the youth by attending their outside activities such as games, sports, musical performances, etc.
· Perform other duties as assigned the position or as directed by the Pastor, such as leading worship on Sunday morning (including the message) or Wednesday evening as needed.
Position Qualifications
· An undergraduate degree with two years of experience in youth ministry.
· Ordained or eligible for ordination as a minister in a Baptist church.
· A Christian who feels called by God into ministry and demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
· A passion for youth.
· Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills.
· Self-motivated and committed to church ministry and the unity of the body.
· Willingness to learn and receive additional training to increase ministerial competence.
