Position Title: Children’s Associate
Location: Cool Spring Baptist Church – Mechanicsville, VA
Position Type: Part-Time (20 hours, Non-Benefited, Non-Exempt)
Position Summary
Cool Spring Baptist Church seeks a part-time Children’s Associate to support the spiritual and developmental growth of elementary-aged children. This role partners with the Children’s Minister to foster safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environments through weekly programming, volunteer leadership, and family support.
Responsibilities:
Children’s Programming
Assist in planning and leading Sunday morning and Wednesday evening programs
Support summer programming and special events
Help create engaging, age-appropriate ministry environments
Volunteer Leadership
Recruit, support, and encourage volunteers
Participate in team meetings and leadership development
Assist with family ministry opportunities
Administration
Coordinate curriculum and supplies
Support ministry planning and execution
Help implement ministry policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Degree in Elementary Education (preferred)
Experience in Children’s Ministry (preferred)
Skills
Strong understanding of child development
Leadership, organization, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships
Personal Requirements
Growing relationship with Jesus Christ
Sense of calling to ministry
Alignment with the mission, values, and beliefs of Cool Spring Baptist Church
