Position Title: Children’s Associate

Location: Cool Spring Baptist Church – Mechanicsville, VA

Position Type: Part-Time (20 hours, Non-Benefited, Non-Exempt)

 

Position Summary

Cool Spring Baptist Church seeks a part-time Children’s Associate to support the spiritual and developmental growth of elementary-aged children. This role partners with the Children’s Minister to foster safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environments through weekly programming, volunteer leadership, and family support.

 

Responsibilities:

Children’s Programming

  • Assist in planning and leading Sunday morning and Wednesday evening programs

  • Support summer programming and special events

  • Help create engaging, age-appropriate ministry environments

Volunteer Leadership

  • Recruit, support, and encourage volunteers

  • Participate in team meetings and leadership development

  • Assist with family ministry opportunities

Administration

  • Coordinate curriculum and supplies

  • Support ministry planning and execution

  • Help implement ministry policies and procedures


Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Elementary Education (preferred)

  • Experience in Children’s Ministry (preferred)

Skills

  • Strong understanding of child development

  • Leadership, organization, and communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships

Personal Requirements

  • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ

  • Sense of calling to ministry

  • Alignment with the mission, values, and beliefs of Cool Spring Baptist Church
