Bob Dale

Remembering Dr. Bob Dale

The Dover Baptist Association expresses their deepest sympathy to the family of Rev. Dr. Robert Dale upon his passing Friday, April 30, 2021. Dr. Dale served as professor and mentor to many of our Dover pastors and ministers. Dr. Dale assisted our association through the years by leading workshops, discussion groups, and most recently served as Interim Co-Director with Rose Mary Stewart. We are grateful for his ministry that challenged us all to imagine the church of the future. Please keep his wife, Carrie, and his children, Amy and Cass, in prayer.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 4th, at Sandston Baptist Church.
Services: Due to COVID, a private graveside service will be held. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family invites anyone who would like to continue Bob’s legacy of education, to make a donation to the Rev. Dr. Robert D. Dale Educational Fund that has been set up through the Virginia Baptist Foundation. Online giving is available at vbfinc.org – select “Donate Now”, click on “Designation” dropdown box – it will be the second option in the list.

Watson Mission Offering - 100% Goes To Missions

Dover Baptists observe a Month of Prayer for Association Missions in May each year. We share specific prayer requests. We also use it to inform the churches about the role and work of the association. The month of prayer helps call attention to and connect Dover Baptists with a variety of local missions and ministries too.

Dover Baptist Association provides resources, consulting services, leadership training, and many other services that help our churches. Dover congregations give a portion of their regular offerings to fund most of the association’s ministries. This special offering supplements and helps support more ministries and mission efforts, not the association’s budget.

About us

Dover acts as a resource, catalyst, and ally to help churches and their leaders.

Baptist congregations in Virginia’s capital region form the network of Dover Baptist Association churches. They voluntarily link together to develop and coordinate shared missions, design and organize training, encourage and promote ministries, and foster communication among its members. They do all this to witness, disciple, and minister the love of Christ in the world.
